ABOUT ME
Jo Michaelides is an English photographer from London. She has been living and working in Cyprus since 2007.
Jo has been working in the photographic industry professionally for the last 24 years. After graduating from University in 1995, she started working as a photographic assistant in London to some of the UK’s top photographers, including - Clive Arrowsmith, Grant Sainsbury, Tim Winter, Johnny Boylan, Nick Briggs and Polly Borland.
She gained enviable training and experience working closely with photographers on a huge variety of shoots all over the world. Shoots included individuals such as Prince Charles, Jade Jagger, Meg Matthews, Nigella Lawson, John Rocha and Ioan Gruffudd and with a variety of clients such as Vogue and Elle, the Sunday Times and Rimmel.
In 2001 Jo started working as a photographer in her own right, quickly developing a good reputation in London as an editorial portrait and interiors photographer. She has shot numerous covers and features for Classic Fm magazine of internationally recognized classical musicians and opera singers, as well as contributing regularly to other well known UK titles such as Homes & Gardens, Essentials, Woman’s Own and Prima.
Since moving to Cyprus, Jo has continued working as a freelance photographer, extending her varied portfolio. She has shot numerous cook books, hotels and corporate brochures, adverts and PR while also contributing regularly to editorial publications.
She often does her own prop styling on food and interior shoots. Jo has extensive knowledge of photoshop and does all her own post production retouching.
